| I don't know what my style is, but I point out what sticks out at me. |
I enjoy reviewing and try to be as honest as possible. I look for specific things such as technical merit, flow and lyrical quality in poems, creativity, tone, and mood. Though I can be a tough critic, I strive to encourage writers to grow and challenge themselves. I feel that it is through constructive criticism that we grow as writers. I strive to give the writer feedback on the overall impact of the piece. I am the host and judge of the "Shadows and Light Poetry Contest"  and co-host of the "Roots & Wings Contest" |
I like to always pick out the positive points in a piece, even if overall I am not enamoured by it.
I tend to point out grammatical and spelling errors.

| I will write a detailed review of your item that goes into detail about the positives and negatives of your item. I color code each section so everything is easy to see once you view your review. |
| Please do not ask me to review your item if you do not want an honest response. I tend to be blunt, but if I can't say anything nice or don't understand your piece, I won't review it. I believe in the peanut butter sardine sandwich approach to critiquing work...something good, something bad, more good. |
| I like to say how I relate to an item. Spelling and grammar are less important. |
| I will give the kind of review that I wish people gave me: rather detailed with emphasis on areas that need growth and areas that are pretty good already. And I'll review pretty much anything, whether a poem or an entire novel or anything in between. Admittedly, though, I do tend to be absent-minded, so it does happen that you might have to resend me the review request, but I promise I'll get around to it eventually. |

| I am a slushpile reader for a Science Fiction and Fantasy magazine. I have a lot of review and critique experience, and love to celebrate what works in a story. If I feel confused or unsure about parts of a story I am usually able to explain why I think it didn't quite work. If I am able to think of some ideas to explore which might help to improve or clarify things for the reader, I share them in a way that I feel is productive and helpful. |
| I'm honest but constructive. I'll explain why I give the number of stars I give and what you could do to improve that. I do fix grammar as well as look at style, emotional triggers, characters, and other things like that. I'll get back to you with a full review in a couple of days or so after the request, depending on the length of the item. |

| I don't like using a template. I don't like correcting spelling. I don't like correcting grammar. I don't want to be your editor. I enjoy discussing what I have read. I am very happy to tell people what I have liked and what I have disliked. There is not a lot that I dislike. |
| My reviewing style varies. I'll let you know in advance that my reviews aren't merely based on what I feel about your piece. I assure you, I'll be letting you know that, but I'm particularly stringent when it comes to grammatical and technical errors in the pieces that I review. I'm uncommonly thorough, as far as my treatment of each piece that I critique is concerned, and my goal is to help to improve the piece, rather than to "hold your hand and tell you everything's gonna be alright"; which some other reviewers on this site tend to do. To that end, if you're looking for an absolutely honest and serious review, I'm your man. If you like, you can request my appraisal of a short story or essay. I will NOT review an entire book or novel outright, but I'll have no problem what-so-ever in reviewing one on a chapter-by-chapter basis. | I'm honest when I review thing I'll say what's on my mind but at the same time I try to stay positive and will always tell you what you did right but this means in no way am I a professional reviewer so take my reviews with a grin of salt please |
